  • Implements all lock out/tag out procedures as they apply to the job functions to ensure personnel safety.
  • Completes reports accurately and completely and has a working knowledge of applicable local filing systems as required.
  • Obtains training as required to maintain qualifications.
  • Utilizes proper procedures for ordering, receiving and transferring materials as well as performing physical inventory.
  • Reviews and interprets drawings, sketches and as-built.
  • Limited independent judgment required.

The Field Technician I role is primarily responsible for developing core skills and knowledge to ensure the safe and reliable operation of equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and performing maintenance and repair tasks.   • High School Diploma and minimal direct training and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.

Level-Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimal directly relevant training and experience.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment and desire to learn and advance as a Pipeline Technician.

Primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks dictated by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply. Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions. Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required. Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Working Conditions

Primarily based outdoors with some office duties for training, meetings, and documentation. Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all weather conditions. Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, shifts, on-call & standby, respond to emergencies, and travel overnight as required. Must reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Mental Requirements

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Base Salary

Base salary ranges from $27.00 - $30.00 hourly USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity. (For all US based roles) Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
