Leavitt Machinery in Auburn, Washington is seeking a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join our Service team. You will diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on material handling equipment, reporting to the Service Manager.

The role requires at least 5 years of mechanical experience, aerial platform and lift truck repair, strong communication, and a willingness to travel regionally. On-site work with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years mechanical experience in related field.
• Experience with aerial platforms and lift trucks.
• Trade certification is a strong asset.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing service jobs and completing tasks promptly
• Discussing service details with customers to clarify repair scope and requirements
• Coordinating with Parts department to order and prepare required parts before visits
• Maintaining documentation like work orders and warranty paperwork
• Reporting safety incidents and adhering to safety policies

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join our Service team in Auburn, Washington. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• At least 5 years of mechanical experience in a related industry
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck repair experience is required
• Relevant Trade Certification is considered a strong asset
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

The base pay range for this role is: $37.41 to $44.52 per hour depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Auburn, Washington.
