Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Field Technician for environmental field sampling at landfill facilities in the Frankfort area. The role involves monitoring construction activities, collecting soil and groundwater samples, and documenting results for project managers.

Candidates should have an HS Diploma and any related Associate’s degree. The position requires travel up to 50% of the time, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work outdoors in various climates, with safety training

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate’s in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• At least 1-2 years professional experience preferred, but strong educational background considered.
• Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with project manager and others regarding site requirements, testing, and results.
• Submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmission to the Project Manager.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Monitor well/landfill gas probes and field sampling activities at sites.
• Sample soil from Geoprobes and soil borings for contaminants (VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, pesticides, herbicides, metals).
• Follow strict safety standards and report safety concerns to management.
