Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician D to provide front-line field service and technical support for customer radio and communications systems across assigned service areas in Carrollton, TX. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, customer communication, and scheduling management, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Preferred candidates hold CCNA/CCNE or equivalent networking experience and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, plus a High School Diploma (or AA degree)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years prior experience, or 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 4 years prior experience.
• CCNA/CCNE or equivalent networking experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics. Classic Windows networking setup helpful.

Job Description:

Highly developed support individual contributor who works autonomously within established procedures and guidelines to resolve technical issues, support customer operations, and complete assignments of broader scope requiring sound judgment and initiative. This role may provide guidance to lower-level peers, recommend practical solutions, and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to explain issues, coordinate support, and achieve agreement on next steps. Uses knowledge and experience to meet operational goals within the job area and contribute to overall team performance.

Essential Functions:

• Provide front-line field service and technical support for customer radio and communications systems across assigned service areas
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and help resolve equipment, system, and network-related issues using established procedures and sound judgment
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to explain technical issues, provide status updates, and coordinate service activities
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional, responsive support
• Prepare accurate service reports, documentation, and related records in a timely manner
• Manage schedules, service calls, and multiple priorities
• Travel regionally as needed, primarily by vehicle, to support customer sites
• Familiarity with Land Mobile Radio networks; L3Harris equipment experience preferred
• Familiarity with portable and mobile radios used in public safety environments
• Working knowledge of IP networking concepts
• Basic understanding of radio frequency theory and operation
• Understanding public safety communications requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and products quickly

Preferred Additional Skills:

• CCNA, CCNE, or equivalent networking experience
