Job summary

SOCOTEC is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. The role focuses on field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt, and on documenting test results to support quality control on construction projects.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience, knowledge of standard test methods, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in construction materials testing or QC inspection.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• ATTI Field Certification

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.
