American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Field Technician Community to maintain and repair AMH properties across the Charleston area. You will perform scheduled maintenance, address resident-reported issues, and oversee contractor work to meet timelines and quality standards.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of residential maintenance experience (or five years in lieu of education). HVAC certification and valid driver’s license preferred.

The Field Technician Community (FTC) is responsible for facilitating and expediting the tenant turn process, and occupied maintenance; including repairs, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance at AMH properties, while ensuring Company property quality standards are maintained. Each FTC is assigned a ‘portfolio of primary responsibility’ encompassing a designated assignment of single-family home units. The assigned territory will be primarily compromised of AMH communities’ homes. The FTC will be responsible for inspecting and assisting with maintaining the common area and community assets including amenities and amenity buildings in the assigned territory.
The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $27.42 to $34.28 Hourly. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
This position is eligible to receive quarterly bonus payments.
