Field Technician, Collections

Full Time Ind. Contributor Doral, FL, US

Collections Technician

Entry-Level | Full-Time | Paid Training Provided

Heath Consultants Incorporated | Protecting Communities since 1933

Since 1933, Heath Consultants has been a trusted leader in protecting communities through natural gas safety services. We are hiring motivated individuals to join our team as Collections Technicians.

No prior experience is required — we provide paid training and industry-recognized certifications.

If you’re dependable, enjoy working outdoors, and want a stable career with purpose, this could be a great fit.

Weekly Pay — Including Your Vehicle Allowance

You are paid weekly, and your vehicle allowance is paid weekly right alongside it. No waiting for a monthly deposit.

Paid Training & Industry Certifications

We will train you from day one. No experience needed — just dependability and a safety-first mindset.

Work That Matters

Your work directly protects life, property, and the environment in the communities we serve.

A collections field technician safely visits customer properties, delivers service disconnection notices, or executes meter cut-offs and restorations while maintaining customer relations and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do
  • Service Disconnection: Turn off natural gas services safely when accounts remain unpaid past the final notice deadline.
  • Service Restoration: Turn gas meters back on and light pilot lights after customers pay past-due balances.
  • Meter Verification: Inspect utility meters for signs of tampering, theft of service, or unauthorized usage.
  • Customer Communication: Explain billing disputes, payment options, and company policies calmly and professionally.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety rules when handling gas lines, wearing protective gear, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and federal and local regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and members of the public.

This role is ideal for individuals who prefer being active rather than sitting behind a desk. You will:

  • Walk approximately 4–7 miles per day
  • Bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Remain on your feet for extended periods
Operate Specialized Equipment

You will use industry-leading gas detection technology to identify potential leaks. Heath provides comprehensive paid training and certifications to ensure you are fully prepared and confident in the field.

Job Requirements

What Success Looks Like

Our strongest technicians consistently demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and technical competence with field equipment. They are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and trustworthy — with strong prioritization, communication, and time-management skills.

At Heath, we support our team members who are on the move. Employees in this role participate in Heath’s Personally Owned Vehicle (POV) Program, which provides meaningful financial support for local travel.

What the POV Program Provides
Weekly Vehicle Allowance — Approximately $185 per Week

Paid every week alongside your regular paycheck (approximately $9,600 annually). Non-taxable for this position.

$300 Monthly Fuel Card

A Company fuel card for qualifying business fuel purchases. Your card is issued on your first day and activates automatically about three weeks after you start — no paperwork required.

Telematics Device Provided at No Cost

Heath provides a small, non-camera GPS device that installs in your vehicle to verify business mileage.

Program Qualifications

To participate in the POV Program, employees will need to meet a few standard qualifications:

  • Active auto insurance — minimum $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 coverage or $300,000 combined single limit
  • Proof of insurance provided before your first day and at each policy renewal
  • A vehicle that meets Heath’s standards — 4-door, backup camera, hands-free capability, and professional appearance
  • Willingness to have a Heath-provided telematics device installed in your vehicle

Full program details are shared upon hire, and a complete POV Program Candidate Summary is provided with your offer.

Benefits & Compensation
  • Weekly vehicle allowance (~$185/week)
  • $300 monthly fuel card
  • Monthly phone allowance up to $40
  • 401(k) with company match
  • $1,500 employee referral bonus
Health & Time Off
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid training and industry certifications
  • Overtime eligibility (non-exempt position)

Many of our technicians advance into senior technician, field leadership, and safety management roles. Heath is committed to developing long-term careers — not just filling positions.
