Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an IT Field Technician specializing in Access Control to install, support, and maintain security infrastructure at customer sites in Oklahoma City. This hands-on, field-based role focuses on card readers, controllers, and related networked devices.

You will troubleshoot software, configure IP-based devices, run low-voltage cabling, and travel to client sites for service calls. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in IT/security field, experience with HID/Lenel/Brivo/Openpath,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an IT Field Technician, Security Technician, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with access control systems (HID, Lenel, Brivo, Openpath, Honeywell, Avigilon, or similar).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with Windows OS and basic IT troubleshooting.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and floor plans.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• Preferred qualifications include CCTV/IP cameras, Active Directory or identity system integrations, low-voltage or IT certifications (HID, CompTIA Network+, BICSI), MSP or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service access control systems (card readers, keypads, controllers, electronic locks).
• Troubleshoot access control software, permissions, credentials, and system integrations.
• Perform on-site diagnostics for hardware, network, power, and cabling issues.
• Configure IP-based security devices and PoE network equipment.
• Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6).
• Document installations, service calls, and system changes.
• Provide basic user training and technical support.
• Coordinate with clients, facilities teams, and internal staff.
• Travel to customer sites for scheduled and emergency service calls.
