Overview

Converse Consultants, an Environmental Consulting and Geotechnical Engineering firm, is seeking a Field Technician/Staff Scientist to perform 3rd party material testing and inspection services.

Ideal candidates

Ideal candidates would have:

• a strong industry specific (construction experience, scientific, and/or civil engineering) backgrounds to work on soil/concrete/asphalt related construction projects, but Converse will train the right candidate(s).

Field work duties

• soil compaction testing (nuclear density gauge), concrete sampling (ACI Grade I), asphalt testing (nuclear density gauge), geotechnical borehole logging, groundwater well sampling, Phase I ESA site walks, soil and concrete laboratory testing, etc.

Office work duties

• updating tables, generating figures, draft report writing, geotechnical and monitoring well boring logs, daily field logs, draft proposals, some project management and client interaction, etc.

Must have own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and good driving record to qualify with company insurance carrier.
