Job summary

CompuNet, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician in Salt Lake City, UT to install and maintain a range of technology systems including AV, VTC, security, wireless, and cabling infrastructure.

You will mount monitors, speakers, cameras and door hardware while working under supervision to create secure, connected environments for customers. The role requires general construction skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, a valid driver's license, and the capacity to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• General construction skills and ability to use hand/power tools to install hardware.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Self-motivated with strong reasoning and ticketing understanding.
• Fundamental understanding of mechanical and low-voltage systems and how components interact.
• Ability to read basic schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel) and web browsers.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen.

• Perform general labor tasks related to installation or maintenance of multiple technologies.
• Install AV, VTC, physical security systems, wireless APs, and cabling under supervision.

We are seeking a Field Technician to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. The Field Technician is responsible for the physical installation and maintenance of a diverse range of technology systems, including Audio Video (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), physical security and access systems, wireless access points, and cabling infrastructure. Working under supervision, this role performs hands-on tasks such as mounting monitors, installing speakers, video endpoints, surveillance cameras, and door hardware, contributing directly to the creation and optimization of secure, connected environments for our customers.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks related to the installation or maintenance of the physical layer aspect of multiple technologies.
• Install Audio Video (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Physical Access and Security systems, Wireless APs, and cabling under supervision.
• Mount monitors, overhead speakers, video endpoints, video surveillance cameras, and door hardware.
• Accurately track and report time and materials against work orders, tickets, or purchase orders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• General construction skills, including the use of hand and power tools to professionally install hardware.
• Ability to rack and install physical equipment including lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently, climbing and working on a ladder, kneeling, bending and stooping.
• Self-motivated with logical and decisive reasoning skills.
• Fundamental understanding of mechanical and low-voltage systems. Understanding of how mechanical components interact and function and low-voltage circuitry.
• Ability to interpret basic schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
• Proficiency with computer applications (i.e., Outlook, Teams, Excel, Internet Browsers).
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge of AV, Wireless, and Security systems design, operation, and installation.
• Formal training in cable installation and termination.
• AV or Physical Security manufacturer certifications.
