Insight Global is seeking an entry‑level, hands‑on field position supporting construction materials testing and inspection at active job sites. This role is physically demanding, primarily outdoors, and requires flexibility in hours, locations, and workload based on construction schedules. This role is ideal for candidates with construction, labor, or blue‑collar backgrounds who want to build a technical career in materials testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field and lab testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, and steel on building pads, warehouses, and commercial construction sites
- Use testing equipment such as nuclear density gauge, air meter, slump cone, and other field tools; break concrete cylinders and transport samples to the lab with proper documentation
- Work directly with clients, contractors, and project managers to communicate testing requirements, observations, and results
- Accurately prepare and submit daily field and lab reports, ensuring clear documentation to support project decisions
- Follow all safety rules and pre‑task planning requirements, report safety concerns, and maintain quality standards
- Maintain assigned equipment, vehicles, and work areas
- Assist senior technicians under supervision and take on increasing responsibility over time, including possible support with technician scheduling and dispatch
Required Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of related experience (construction, labor, field work, or similar)
- Physically capable of construction‑site work (lifting, standing, outdoor exposure)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable interacting with clients on job sites
- Flexible availability (schedule varies by project and concrete pours)
