Job summary

Tiello is seeking a Commercial Roofing Field Technician to support contractors and roofing installations across an assigned territory. The role focuses on roof inspections, installation quality, contractor support, troubleshooting, and warranty compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in commercial roofing, hands-on experience with low-slope systems (TPO/PVC), and the ability to travel regionally. Based in/near Charlotte, Indianapolis, Nashville, or Cumberland, MD with regular travel.

Position Overview

Tiello has partnered with a leading commercial roofing and waterproofing manufacturer seeking a Commercial Roofing Field Technician to support contractors and roofing installations throughout an assigned territory.

This is a field-based technical position focused on roof inspections, installation quality, contractor support, troubleshooting, and warranty compliance.

We are open to experienced manufacturer Field Technicians as well as strong Commercial Roofing Foremen, Superintendents, Service Technicians, and Inspectors interested in transitioning to the manufacturer side of the industry.

Candidates should be based in or near Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN; Nashville, TN; or Cumberland, MD and comfortable with regular regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections on active commercial roofing projects
• Verify roofing systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements
• Inspect seams, flashing, penetrations, insulation, fasteners, adhesives, drains, curbs, terminations, and other critical roofing details
• Identify installation deficiencies and communicate necessary corrective actions to contractors and field crews
• Provide technical support and installation guidance to commercial roofing contractors
• Troubleshoot installation and roofing performance issues in the field
• Conduct final inspections and assist with warranty approval requirements
• Provide installation training and technical education to contractors and roofing crews
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, photographs, and field documentation
• Work directly with contractors, Foremen, Superintendents, technical teams, and other project stakeholders
• Maintain a strong understanding of manufacturer specifications and commercial roofing best practices
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support active projects

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial roofing experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of low-slope commercial roofing systems
• Experience with TPO, PVC, and/or other single-ply roofing systems
• Previous experience as a Commercial Roofing Field Technician, Technical Representative, Foreman, Superintendent, Service Technician, Inspector, or similar position
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing installation details and best practices
• Ability to identify installation deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a regional field schedule
• Strong written documentation and reporting skills
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout an assigned territory
