Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company seeks experienced Field Engineers/Technicians to support nationwide wireless infrastructure projects, including Ericsson BBU/baseband swaps, site consolidation, and battery replacement. You will work hands-on across migrations and power upgrades in live networks.

The role emphasizes strong Ericsson equipment experience, troubleshooting, adherence to MOPs, and safe execution with travel across project sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of wireless field experience.
• Hands-on Ericsson wireless equipment experience, including BBU/baseband and cabinet installation, replacement, swaps, or migration.
• Experience with site consolidation and equipment decommissioning.
• Experience replacing batteries and performing basic DC power work at telecommunications sites.
• Working knowledge of cell-site equipment, fiber connections, grounding, alarms, and battery backup systems.
• Ability to read and follow Method of Procedures (MOPs), construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation standards.
• Experience using multimeters and fiber inspection/test tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, and migrate Ericsson BBU/baseband units, cabinets, and related equipment.
• Support site consolidation and decommission legacy equipment, cabling, and power systems.
• Verify fiber, power, grounding, labeling, alarms, and equipment connections before and after migrations.
• Install and replace batteries, battery strings, and battery cabinets; verify polarity, connections, torque, and DC voltage.
• Follow approved MOPs, construction drawings, and maintenance window requirements.
• Coordinate commissioning, troubleshooting, alarm clearing, and post-work health checks with remote integration and NOC teams.
• Complete site audits, equipment inventories, photographs, daily reports, and closeout documentation.
• Ericsson wireless equipment, BBU/baseband units, and cabinets.
• Battery backup systems and DC power.
• Fiber connectivity, grounding, and alarm verification.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Field Engineers / Technicians for nationwide wireless infrastructure projects supporting network modernization, Ericsson BBU/baseband and cabinet swaps, site consolidation, decommissioning, and battery replacement.

This opportunity offers hands‑on work across wireless equipment migrations and power upgrades. We are looking for technicians with strong Ericsson equipment experience, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to execute work safely in live network environments.

Contract Duration

3-6 month extendable

Required Skills & Experience

What You Will Be Doing

Work & Physical Requirements

• Travel nationwide and remain in project markets for multiple days or weeks as needed.
• Work outdoors, in equipment shelters, on rooftops, and at other wireless site locations.
• Availability for extended hours, nights, and scheduled maintenance windows.
• Ability to lift and move equipment, batteries, tools, and materials within applicable safety limits.
