Job summary

SOCOTEC in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to perform field testing and inspections on soils, concrete, and asphalt, and to document results.

The role supports quality control on construction sites, maintains records, communicates findings to project managers and clients, and adheres to safety standards. Requires practical experience and a valid driver's license; certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction materials testing or QC inspection.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience performing field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt on construction projects and will be responsible for documenting test results and supporting quality control efforts.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Certifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• NAQTC Sampling and Density
• Radiation/Nuclear Gauge Safety
• Clark County interview completion/approvals required
• Additional ICC, NAQTC, NICET, or related construction inspection certifications are a plus.
