Field Technician

Location: St. Louis, or Kansas City, MO

Role Description: This is a full-time field role for a Field Technician located in either St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, or Springfield, MO. The Field Technician will be responsible for collecting wastewater samples from various locations throughout Missouri and other states as needed.

Essential Functions:

  1. Obtain representative wastewater samples at designated locations (such as manholes, sewer cleanouts, or treatment plants)
  2. Install, operate, and calibrate field sampling equipment
  3. Maintain samples properly and ensure their transportation to testing labs
  4. Document sampling procedures, site conditions, and other relevant information accurately
  5. Follow safety protocols and PPE guidelines
  6. Perform ad hoc office duties to support company operations
  7. Maintain professional relationships with customers and the public

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including accurate note-taking and reporting
  2. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting equipment and assessing site conditions
  3. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  4. High attention to detail in sample collection, data logging, and documentation
  5. Strong organizational skills, including time management and route planning
  6. Experience with environmental sampling and monitoring is a plus
  7. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA HAZWOPER) are a plus
  8. High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is a plus

Other Requirements:

  1. Willingness to travel 50% or more, including in-state by vehicle and out-of-state by plane
  2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  4. Employment contingent upon successful background check

Compensation:

  1. Salary: $70,000 annually
