Job summary

Crystal Clean Windows is seeking two reliable Field Techs to join our growing crew. You’ll start at the shop, join the daily team meeting, and support the lead technician on commercial or residential work orders, from ground-floor storefronts to rope-access projects.

You’ll help execute each job safely, efficiently, and to a standard clients can notice from across the street. You’ll work outdoors year-round, on a two-person crew, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor or field service work is preferred.
• Comfortable working at heights and on ladders, ropes, and lifts.
• Full training provided for exterior services.

Responsibilities

• Report to the shop each morning and join the daily team meeting.
• Support the lead technician on commercial or residential orders on-site.
• Handle equipment, prep surfaces, and deliver services safely and to standard.
• Perform rope-access work where trained and certified.
• Return to the shop, close out work orders, and restock vehicles.

We are seeking two reliable, hard-working Field Techs to join our growing crew. This role is the backbone of everything Crystal Clean Windows delivers — you'll start each day at the shop, join the team meeting, and head out as the supporting arm of a lead technician on commercial or residential work orders. From ground-floor storefronts to rope-access work on mid- and high-rise buildings, your job is to help execute every project safely, efficiently, and to a standard the client can see from across the street. OBJECTIVES

• Report to the shop each morning, participate in the daily all-team meeting, and receive your crew and work order assignments.
• Support the lead technician on assigned commercial or residential work orders — handling equipment, prepping surfaces, and executing services on-site.
• Deliver every project to Crystal Clean's quality standard: shiny windows, clean details, and a client who can see the difference.
• Perform rope-access work on applicable commercial projects as trained and certified.
• Work safely at heights and around ladders, lifts, and rope systems, following all company safety protocols at all times.
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and accounted for throughout the day.
• Communicate job status, issues, and client concerns to your lead technician or supervisor promptly.
• Return to the shop at the end of each day and close out fully — work orders completed and logged, vehicles restocked and ready for tomorrow.
• Complete the 4-week onboarding under a Senior Field Tech and progress through the EMM development program.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in outdoor or field service work — lawn care, landscaping, or restoration backgrounds are ideal.
• Must be genuinely comfortable and confident working at heights — including on ladders, ropes, and lifts; comfort at heights will be assessed during the interview process; prior rope access experience or certification a plus.
• Prior window cleaning, pressure washing, or exterior services experience preferred but not required — full training provided.
• Reliable transportation to the shop daily; valid driver's license preferred.
• Availability to work seasonal peak periods (through October) and extended hours on larger projects
• Must be available to stay overnight in Cedar Rapids as needed for work assignments, averaging approximately 10% of the work year.”
• Must be able to meet the physical demands and agility requirements of rope access work in order to qualify

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $18–$20 per hour, based on experience
• Pay raise upon successful completion of the EMM development program
• Paid 4-week onboarding and hands-on training under a Senior Field Tech
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must meet the company’s driving and insurance eligibility requirements to operate company vehicles.
