Job description

GP Strategies Corporation - Field Technical Instructor (FTI)

Position Summary: The FTI requires an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual to convey complex technical subjects clearly and engagingly. Must have strong communication skills and technical expertise in Industrial Automation control products across multiple product families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver performance-based training in-house and at customer sites.
  2. Identify customer training needs for tailored delivery.
  3. Maintain and expand technical and product knowledge.
  4. Set up, operate, and maintain classroom equipment.
  5. Report issues impacting delivery or customer satisfaction.
  6. Engage with students to identify follow-on training or sales opportunities.
  7. Diagnose and address student performance issues.
  8. Monitor and improve class evaluations.
  9. Support sales activities as appropriate.
  10. Set a professional example and mentor others.

Additional Requirements: Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and extensive travel, including weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Education, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of field experience.
  • Preferred experience in teaching Industrial Automation Control, programming Rockwell Automation hardware, and using Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk software.
