Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and technically adept Field Service Engineering Manager with an electrical engineering background to oversee the deployment, maintenance, and logistical lifecycle of the ruggedized acoustic sensing hardware and field data systems that power Seismos' real-time diagnostics. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our engineering and product teams and the on-site crews running our instrumentation, drawing on your electrical engineering training to understand and support the sensors, power systems, and signal electronics at the core of our technology. You will manage the technical infrastructure that keeps our field kits, sensors, and connectivity systems running seamlessly at active job sites, minimizing downtime and maximizing uptime for the data streams our customers rely on to make real-time decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware & Asset Management: Oversee the procurement, configuration, calibration, and tracking of Seismos' proprietary acoustic sensing units, field hardware, mobile devices, and related.


• Logistics & Inventory Control: Coordinate the end-to-end supply chain for field instrumentation and spares, ensuring field engineers and crews arrive at every location with fully functioning, calibrated, and up-to-date equipment.


• Deployment & Implementation: Lead the rollout and scaling of new sensor hardware, firmware, edge-processing units, and remote connectivity infrastructure across active basins and regional field sites.


• Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Negotiate with hardware and connectivity vendors, manage service level agreements, and orchestrate the secure decommissioning, refurbishment, or recycling of end-of-life field equipment.


• Operational Troubleshooting: Serve as the escalation point for complex field technical issues, applying electrical engineering fundamentals to diagnose circuit-, power-, and signal-level faults, and managing and supporting field engineers and remote dispatchers to resolve sensor, connectivity, or software bottlenecks quickly during live treatment operations.


• Data & Analytics Compliance: Ensure field systems accurately log acoustic telemetry, asset tracking, and job-level metrics into corporate databases, supporting engineering QA, customer reporting, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; equivalent hands-on electrical/electronics experience will also be considered.


• Experience: 4+ years of experience managing technical operations, field hardware deployments, or supply chain logistics ideally within energy, oilfield services, instrumentation, or industrial sectors.


• Technical Skills: Proficiency with asset management software, mobile device management platforms, and ERP or logistics modules.


• Systems Familiarity: Strong understanding of ruggedized field hardware, sensor or instrumentation systems, satellite/cellular remote connectivity, and GPS/telematics tracking, including the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuits, power systems, and signal wiring down to the component level.


• Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and reporting employees, coordinate with remote field engineering teams, and communicate clearly with both corporate stakeholders and well-site crews.


• Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% to regional field sites, basins, and operational yards to inspect deployments, support live jobs, and lead on-site rollouts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with hydraulic fracturing, completions, or downhole/surface diagnostic technologies.


• Familiarity with acoustic sensing, telemetry, or other real-time subsurface data systems.


• Experience supporting a fast-growing technology or SaaS company scaling field operations.
