Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Systems Engineer for Monitoring & Diagnostics to own end-to-end technical delivery of on-site deployments for the M&D platform. You will design, install, and commission servers, switches and firewalls at customer sites, coordinating across multiple teams and time zones.

The role requires 3 years of IT/engineering experience, proficiency with Windows and Linux, and familiarity with SCADA/DCS protocols.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
3 years of experience in IT/engineering with hands-on field installation of network equipment.
Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems; familiarity with SCADA/DCS protocols (Modbus, OPC, TCP/IP, serial).
Ability to manage multiple projects in a matrixed, global organization.

Responsibilities

Own technical delivery end-to-end: design, site integration planning, and on-site hardware installation for M&D deployments.
Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and internal teams during deployments, leading real-time troubleshooting.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), design documents, and installation plans aligned to project timelines.
Coordinate deployments across multiple locations and time zones, maintaining quality and documentation.
Travel to customer sites approximately 30–50% of the time, domestically and internationally.
