Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Full-time Electrical Switchgear & Control Technician to support field service across the Kansas City, KS area and Midwest region. You will diagnose, repair, test, and maintain low- and medium-voltage switchgear and protective devices to ensure reliable power distribution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical/ electromechanical diploma preferred.
• Proven switchgear service/repair experience.
• Ability to read onelines, schematics, and OEM manuals.
• Proficient with test gear: multimeter, megohmmeter, injector, relay tester.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, LOTO and arc-flash.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently or in teams.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willing to travel up to 25% Midwest; flexible hours; OT possible.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical faults in LV/MV switchgear using meters and test sets.
• Repair/replace breakers, relays, contactors, CTs/VTs, switches, cabling and wiring.
• Execute functional tests and verify insulation, contact resistance.
• Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, torqueing, infrared inspection, calibration.
• Commission or return to service per specs; respond to emergencies.
• Document test results and service reports; maintain records.
• Follow LOTO and arc-flash safety procedures.
