Job summary

RECON is seeking a Surveyor to support construction projects in Steubenville, Ohio. You will collect data, perform precise measurements, and provide layout support for civil earthwork using coordinate geometry and modern surveying equipment.

The role reports to the Project Manager and requires experience with TopCon 3D-Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GPS/robotic total station; travel on-site and outdoor exposure expected.

Qualifications

• TopCon 3D-Office experience
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
• Stakeout/ Layout capabilities
• Professional GPS equipment utilization (TopCon preferred)
• Design surface comparison and volume calculations
• Drone flight experience is a plus
• 3+ years field survey operations on earthwork projects
• Ability to use GPS/robotics with prints for layout

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary survey work to prepare project plans and ensure alignment with specifications.
• Collect data and conduct topographical surveys to establish baselines, elevations, and boundaries.
• Interpret plans and coordinate critical dimensions for civil earthwork.
• Operate total stations, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble/TOPCON equipment on site.
• Calculate terrain characteristics and install construction staking for operators.
• Manage project documents and collaborate with management to resolve field conflicts.
