Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Rodman to join our survey crew in Marietta, GA. The Rodman will provide essential support under the direction of the Party Chief to ensure accurate field measurements for land surveying projects.

Responsibilities include clearing lines of sight, carrying and setting up equipment, and maintaining survey supplies. This role requires outdoor work in various weather conditions and reliable collaboration with the engineering team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts and techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and terrains.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
• Carry and set up equipment, such as rods, tripods, and prisms, for staking and measurement.
• Load and unload survey equipment and supplies for job assignments.
• Maintain survey supplies, such as nails, paint, rods, and flags, ensuring the crew is prepared for daily tasks.
• Gather supplies, dig for corners, and cut lines.
• Search for and correctly identify monuments.
• Plumb prisms to ensure accurate measurements.
• Measure distances using chains, tape, or other methods.
• Clean and maintain survey equipment.
• Complete other tasks related to field surveying as assigned.
