Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Rodman to support land surveying projects in Marietta, GA. This role involves clearing lines of sight, transporting and setting up survey gear, and assisting the crew under the Party Chief's direction.

You will work outdoors in varied weather, handle rods, prisms, and stakes, and help maintain equipment and supplies to ensure daily tasks run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to interact with all levels of staff.
• Follow directions from supervisors and work with engineering staff.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs and carrying survey equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
• Carry and set up rods, tripods, and prisms for staking and measurement.
• Load and unload survey equipment and supplies.
• Maintain survey supplies like nails, paint, rods, and flags.
• Gather supplies, dig for corners, and cut lines.
• Identify monuments accurately.
• Plumb prisms for accurate measurements.
• Measure distances with chains, tape, or other methods.
• Clean and maintain survey equipment.
• Complete other field surveying tasks as assigned.
