Job summary

Stantec is seeking experienced Field Survey Technicians for opportunities in Milwaukee, WI, with potential assignments in Madison or Sturgeon Bay. You will work under supervision on surveying, mapping and data collection tasks as part of a larger project led by a Senior Surveyor.

The role emphasizes fieldwork, measurement verification, and safe operation of survey equipment. A strong math background and valid driver's license are important, with field settings being the primary environment.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of field survey methods and calculations.
  • Working knowledge of local survey laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Developing understanding of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
  • Good cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Good math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.
  • May be required to drive company vehicle to reach jobsites.

Your Opportunity

We provide our clients with a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. We are currently hiring experienced Field Survey Technicians for opportunities in Milwaukee, Madison or Sturgeon Bay, WI. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or technical school preferred but not required. 1-3 years of related work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Position will primarily work in afield setting.

Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
