Job summary

Stantec is hiring Experienced Field Survey Technicians for opportunities in Cincinnati and Columbus, OH. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities under direct supervision and as part of a larger project led by a Senior Surveyor.

Position involves field work in outdoor environments, driving to job sites, and collaboration with a team to ensure accuracy and safety. 1-3 years experience preferred; associate degree or technical training preferred but not required.

Your Opportunity

We provide our clients with a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. We are currently hiring experienced Field Survey Technicians for opportunities in our Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio offices. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.
  • May be required to drive company vehicle to reach jobsites.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Verifies the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites, and prepare maps or sketches of work performed in the field daily.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Working knowledge of field survey methods and calculations.
  • Working knowledge of local survey laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Developing understanding of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
  • Good cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Good math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or technical school preferred but not required. 1-3 years of related work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Position will primarily work in a field setting.

Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary
