Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Survey and Mapping Technician II at Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne, CA. This is primarily a field position that supports surveying pipelines, facilities and properties.

You will work with senior staff to assist and support surveyors in measuring and documenting project data, using 3D laser scanning and modern survey equipment to ensure precise results.

Qualifications

• Education and experience meet the minimums for field and/or office survey work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys by collaborating with senior staff on diverse projects.
• Assist with topographic, construction, and pipeline surveys.
• Assist with precision staking for right-of-way and pipelines.
• Utilize 3D laser scanning and modern survey equipment.
• Apply geometry and trigonometry to obtain precise measurements.
• Interpret field results and process project measurements.
• Support senior personnel through all phases of surveying.
