Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Survey Manager to lead field surveying and control programs across the Southeast District. You will partner with project engineers, site superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure data accuracy and alignment with project drawings.

Time in the role is spent in the field, delivering real-time support to construction crews and ensuring safety and quality controls. The position requires 5+ years in construction surveying, proficiency with Trimble technology, strong math

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in construction surveying or related disciplines.
• Proficiency with Trimble surveying technology and software platforms.
• Strong math skills for spatial calculations in the field.
• Ability to manage multiple survey tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safety and quality controls on surveying operations.
• Able to work autonomously or with a team and support field crews.
• Willingness to travel frequently between project sites in the district.
• Physical fitness for demanding outdoor work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive field surveys to establish precise control points and reference lines.
• Lead and coordinate surveying operations on site ensuring safety and standards.
• Collaborate with project management and engineers to interpret plans and deliver data.
• Set up and maintain control networks, calibrate total stations, GPS/GNSS and levels.
• Monitor as-built conditions and produce detailed reports and data sets.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and adapt methodologies to site conditions.
• Assist in training junior survey staff or subcontractors.
• Maintain meticulous records and backups of survey data.
• Participate in safety meetings and uphold environmental stewardship on site.
