Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Self-Perform Operations Surveyor NAS to coordinate and supervise field surveying tasks across the project lifecycle. The role requires baseline control development, precise layout, drawings interpretation, and cross-trade coordination on site.

The candidate will perform daily equipment inspections, manage crew schedules, and contribute to safety and quality programs while supporting billing and documentation efforts. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3 years surveying experience required.
• 2 years supervisory experience.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• Expert knowledge of surveying equipment.
• Proficient in CAD or similar for coordinates.
• Able to read/interpret contract docs, drawings, specs, schedules.
• Strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with smartphones/tablet for job systems.
• Understand safety instructions and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise surveying tasks throughout project duration.
• Identify drawing discrepancies within building layout.
• Establish baseline-building controls and layout points with accuracy.
• Ensure coordination between trades using contract drawings and submittals.
• Conduct As-Built surveys and prepare electronic data for owner submission.
• Engage and coordinate work with other trades.
• Inspect surveying equipment daily and track calibrations.
• Maintain and clean surveying equipment.
• Inventory and order surveying supplies.
• Ensure equipment security during surveying operations.
• Develop and submit project billings based on service rates.
• Develop work schedules and crew assignments.
• Assist with site safety and quality programs and compliance.
• Complete time sheets, production tracking, and safety paperwork daily.
• Demonstrate leadership and teamwork; manage relationships with customers/contractors.
• Travel and accommodate night/weekend work as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
