Job summary

BL Harbert International is seeking a Field Engineer in Columbia, SC to perform precise measurements and determine property boundaries for engineering, map making, and construction. You will support layout of roads, utilities, dredging, and structures on site.

Responsibilities include establishing elevations for grading, laying out grids for foundations, and operating survey equipment such as transits and total stations.

Qualifications

• Precisely measure and determine property boundaries.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings and maps.
• Coordinate surveys with project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Locate boundaries of land and roads.
• Establish elevations for grading of land, roads, utilities, and building floors.
• Layout grid lines for foundations, columns, and walls.
• Operate transits, levels, robotic instruments, and total stations.
• Layout and monitor locations and structural members.
• Layout lines for concrete formwork and utilities.
• Maintain records of as-built conditions for structures and roads.
• Collaborate with Superintendents, Foremen, Carpenters, and Iron Workers.
