Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to assist the Party Chief in field operations and data collection using company standards.

You will operate and maintain transits, total stations, GPS devices, and EDME tools to verify measurements and support project teams. Required are a high school diploma, 1+ years surveying experience, GDOT familiarity, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years using data collectors, total stations and GPS equipment.
• 1+ years land surveying experience.
• GDOT experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.
• Willing to train candidates without all experience.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
• Assist Party Chief in field operations.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments to measure elevations, angles and distances.
• Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
• Adhere to survey regulations and Accura procedures.
• Monitor daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections.
• Perform calculations to establish reference points.
• Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specs.
• Clean and adjust instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Oversee surveying activities in the absence of the Party Chief.
• Perform related work as required.
