Actalent is seeking a Survey Crew Chief / Survey Party Chief to lead the field aspects of surveying projects. The role oversees the daily work of the survey crew, schedules field survey activities, and ensures compliance with standards and procedures.

The position involves boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys on a diverse project portfolio. The role requires 2+ years of land surveying experience and proficiency with total stations, data collectors, levels, tripods, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in land surveying.
• Hands-on experience with boundary, topographic, construction surveys and related land survey work.
• Proficiency in operating surveying equipment including total stations, data collectors, levels, tripods, and transits.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Survey Supervisor to schedule and coordinate field survey work.
• Supervise the daily work of the survey crew and organize work with minimal supervision.
• Verify field survey activities follow standard procedures and applicable state statutes.
• Perform field activities including leveling, traversing, triangulation, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and control surveys.
• Operate and perform basic field adjustments on survey instruments and maintain equipment.
• Communicate project status and field conditions to professional staff.
• Participate in business development and contribute to customer service in the field.
• Support local and regional survey projects across Winchester and Northern Virginia.
