Job Summary: The Field Support Team Lead manages a deployable team supporting business development, engineering, product development, and field-based customer engagements. This role blends the skills of a Field Service Representative, Test Engineer, and Demo Team Leader into a single, versatile leader ready to operate in fast-paced environments.
Job Duties:
- Demo Planning & Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate field tests, live demonstrations, and customer engagements across test, tactical and operational environments CONUS and OCONUS.
- Hands-On Demo Support: Operate and troubleshoot OKSI products and systems, including AI/ML-based technologies, UAS platforms, optical sensors, and field kits during live demos and field activities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small, agile team of field support members to ensure readiness, professionalism, and technical excellence in all deployments.
- System Setup & Troubleshooting: Ensure systems are assembled, prepped, tested, and field-ready. Diagnose and resolve system issues on-site or in lab environments.
- Customer-Facing Representation: Act as a technical liaison between end-users and internal engineering teams. Represent OKSI confidently during customer interactions, demos, and technical briefings.
- Process & Documentation: Capture field data, system performance insights, and customer feedback. Maintain demo configurations, deployment checklists, and training documentation.
- Training & Enablement: Provide technical training to customers and internal stakeholders when needed. Contribute to product improvement through feedback and collaboration with engineering.
- Deployment Logistics: Manage logistics for field operations including travel planning, equipment transport, and on-site setup/teardown.

Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in field service, test engineering, technical demonstrations, or similar roles
- Strong technical acumen; ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex systems such as UAS, AI/ML platforms, and advanced sensors
- Proficient in Linux environments (command line tools, shell navigation)
- Familiarity with basic coding in Python and C++ for configuration and scripting tasks
- Proven team leadership experience with ability to manage and develop small technical teams
- Excellent communication skills and comfort in high-stakes, customer-facing environments
- Able to travel frequently (up to 50%) and support work in dynamic or tactical field conditions
- You must have, or be eligible to obtain, a Department of Defense Secret clearance. You will be subject to government security investigations and must be able to access classified information. The inability to obtain a security clearance will result in you being ineligible for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience conducting technical demos for defense, aerospace, or government audiences.
- Familiarity with GCS software, RF links, rugged computing platforms, and video/data streaming tools.
- Field test planning, risk mitigation, and on-site support for fielded systems
- Experience conducting field demos for military, government, or commercial customers
- Background in planning and executing safe field operations, including handling of sensitive equipment, batteries, and ESD precautions
- Understanding of ITAR/export control regulations in field settings and customer engagements.
