Job summary

Acuity Inc. is seeking a technically skilled startup, troubleshooting, and end-user training specialist for lighting control systems.

You will read plans, interpret specs, and ensure installations meet expectations while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This role supports field applications, provides expert guidance to customers, builds relationships, and coordinates with engineering and other departments to drive project completion.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Technical Degree, or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • General computer skills including email and spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs onsite lighting and control startup, troubleshooting, and end user training (55%).
  • Provides expert support for field applications to internal and external customers (30%).
  • Creates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders for differentiated service (10%).
  • Provides engineering support and cross-functional communication with other departments (5%).

Job Summary

Provides startup, troubleshooting, and end user training for lighting control systems. Can easily read lighting and floor plans and interpret specifications to ensure system installations match the plans and meet the end user's expectations. Has enough expertise to handle complex jobs and work with both internal and external stakeholders to address concerns and drive project completion.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Performs onsite lighting and control startup, troubleshooting, and end user training – 55%
  • Provides expert support for both internal and external customers as it pertains to field applications of products – 30%
  • Creates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to provide differentiated service – 10%
  • Provides engineering support and communicates cross-functionally with other departments – 5%
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • Associate's Degree or Technical Degree, or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant technical experience
  • General computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, word processing, and data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Understanding of basic electrical components (relays, drivers, ballasts, etc.)
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in problem-solving, customer-facing, and hands-on technical roles
  • Understanding of lighting control systems
  • Ability to meet travel requirements
  • Remote role with 90% travel Monday through Friday, with weekends at home
  • Candidates should ideally reside in Texax, as most travel will occur within TX, OK, AR and LA and surrounding areas
Travel Requirements

The range for this position is$48,100.00 to $80,000.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location. Acuity offers generous benefits including health care, dental coverage, vision plans, 401K benefits, and commissions/incentive compensation depending on the role.
