Job summary

MEC General Contractors is seeking a full-time driver/logistics assistant to support our Melbourne, FL operations. The role involves transporting materials, tracking inventory, and assisting with site setup and project-related tasks.

You will interact with suppliers and support field teams to keep projects running smoothly. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Construction background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently transport supplies and equipment to job sites and maintain inventory
• Accurately track and document materials loaded/unloaded
• Assist with initial setup of new job sites and cleanup of completed projects
• Deliver documents and packages to various locations
• Coordinate with marketing for groundbreaking events
• Occasionally perform superintendent duties to cover time off or uncovered sites
• Maintain storage areas, organized and clean
• Manage company fleet and large assets
• Follow safety guidelines during material transport and handling
• Present a professional demeanor when interacting with suppliers
• Assist with various labor tasks as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of all materials loaded and unloaded to maintain inventory control.
• Assist with the initial set up of all new job sites, and the subsequent cleanup of material on completed projects.
• Deliver documents and packages to various locations.
• Coordinate with marketing to assist in the set up groundbreaking events.
• Fill in and perform superintendent duties on occasion to cover employee time off or for uncovered project sites.
• Maintain storage areas, keep in a clean organized manner.
• Maintain and track company fleet of vehicles and large assets.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols during material transportation, loading, and unloading to minimize accidents.
• Maintain a professional courteous demeanor when interacting with suppliers and represent our company in a positive light.
• Assist with various labor tasks when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills And Abilities

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Construction related background a plus.
• Effective time management skills.
• Punctuality and great communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Computer literate, and familiar with Microsoft Office.
