Job summary

East Coast Facilities, Inc. provides facility maintenance to commercial, industrial, institutional, government and corporate clients. Field Supervisors support Crew Leaders in production, fleet, quality control and safety initiatives. This position reports to a Project Manager.

The role requires journeyman credentials in landscape-related fields, English fluency, a valid driver’s license and the ability to manage materials, logistics and safety at multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Journeyman in one or more landscape sub-categories (maintenance, construction, repairs, arbor care, irrigation).
• Able to read/write; fluent in English.
• Clean driver’s license; able to pass drug test and background check.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support Crew Leaders and Team Leaders in production, fleet, quality control and safety.
• Transfer fleet/equipment between service center and satellite locations.
• Organize, pick up and deliver materials to Crew Leaders as needed.
• Assist Project Managers in operations and job fulfillment.
• Perform quality control site inspections and supervise work to meet specs.

Field Supervisor (Landscape Operations) - JobDescription

Our Field Supervisors support Crew Leaders and Team Leaders in all matters related to production, fleet, quality control and safety initiatives. This position reports to a Project Manager.

Trade Skill Requirements

• Able to effectively communicate in the English language
• Drive company vehicles as directed
• Operate various types of equipment and machinery associated with this job description
• Is a journeyman in one or more of the following job sub-categories:
  • Professional landscape maintenance operations
  • Professional landscape construction services
  • Landscape repairs, restoration, and remediation
  • Licensed arbor care and tree trimming services
  • Landscape irrigation repairs and maintenance
• Perform quality control site inspections
• Train Crew Leaders in all matters related to job sequencing and productivity
• Transfer fleet and equipment to and from the service center and satellite locations
• Organize, pickup and deliver materials to Crew Leaders as needed
• Support Project Managers in all aspects of operations and job fulfillment

Crew Supervision

• Ensures that the Crew Leaders meet projected man hour and materials budgets on assigned work tickets
• Assists with dispatching
• Ensures all crews are fully equipped and properly fueled
• Able to assign tasks to crew members (if applicable) and follow up to make sure that work was completed properly
• Ensures that all crew members (if applicable) report to work on time and follow all company rules and procedures.
• Takes appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary and involves Project Manager when necessary

Crew Training

• Ensures crew members are trained in company safety policies
• Able to certify crews in the job tasks assigned to the Crew Leader
• Trains crew members (if applicable) to do the job effectively and efficiently
• Able to cross train Crew Leaders in the performance of Field Supervisor’s role for future growth
• Can effectively communicate in English and/or Spanish what is to be learned

Performance Reviews

• Able to evaluate the performance of the crew
• Able to assist the Project Manager in a performance review for crew members and Crew Leaders
• Able to monitor goals based on evaluation process

Safety Management

• Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field always
• Follows company procedures on discipline if any safety rules are broken
• Have zero preventable accidents

Image Compliance

• Maintains clean, neat, and professional image of service vehicle & trailer
• Ensure crew members maintain professional image using approved ECF uniforms and by monitoring & maintaining proper employee actions

Equipment Management

• Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles & trailers or other items are maintained in proper working order by following proper maintenance and inventory schedules
• Is accountable for neglect and abuse of assigned equipment

Administrative

• Able to read and write
• Can organize and implement work schedule
• Responsible for the following forms and procedures
  • Accident Reporting Forms
  • Equipment Inventory Form
  • Equipment Repair/Request
  • As applicable – MR – FEP - ACP
  • Monthly Vehicle Safety Inspection
  • Quality Control Inspection Form
  • As applicable - Irrigation IMRForm
  • As applicable - Trailer Safety Inspection Form

General Qualifications

• Must be a journeyman in one or more of the job sub-categories listed above
• Able to operate a smart phone, send and receive emails, take digital photos
• Able to speak, read and write fluently in the English Language
• Have and hold a clean driver’s license
• Can pass drug test
• Can pass a criminal background check
• Comply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
• Work near or about natural bodies of water
• Work with various types of work lifts
• Able to work overtime or extended shifts if required by Management
• Ability to work in extreme conditions – working temperatures may exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
