Mercy in Aurora, Missouri is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to provide direct patient care and perform various emergency services. The ideal candidate will integrate into the Mercy philosophy, engage in teamwork, and effectively communicate with patients and families.
The role requires paramedic licensure and an associate's degree or equivalent experience, with preferred credentials including NIMS training and previous leadership experience. Mercy emphasizes employee wellness with benefits such as medical coverage, paid time off, and retirement plans.
Perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced life support according to the goals of Mercy Health System’s philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Field supervisors also perform clerical and maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and Paramedic students. Supervisors are responsible for daily routine and pre‑hospital care setting, make operational decisions in the absence of the Manager‑Regional EMS or Supervisor‑Operations, and instruct EMT and Paramedic on in‑service training, education and driving. The incumbent will carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into the Mercy philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he/she has responsibility. Performs related duties as assigned.
