Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee cleaning and maintenance staff, ensuring all tasks meet high standards of cleanliness across sites. You will lead, schedule, train, and evaluate janitorial teams, conduct routine inspections, manage inventory, and enforce health and safety policies while communicating effectively with clients and management.

Experience in facilities management and strong leadership are essential, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and quality service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in janitorial services or facilities management is a plus.
• Proven experience as a janitorial supervisor or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff to ensure areas are cleaned and maintained to company standards.
• Schedule and assign cleaning tasks, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
• Train and onboard new janitorial staff.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
• Address and resolve issues or complaints related to cleaning services.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff schedules, and maintenance issues.
• Communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients to ensure satisfaction with cleaning services.
• Assist with cleaning tasks as needed, especially in high-demand situations.
• Develop and implement cleaning procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
