We serve electric utilities, power generation, industrial, renewable, and energy markets with integrated capabilities spanning planning and system studies, engineering and design, maintenance and testing, program management, construction, and turnkey EPC delivery.

With more than 60 years of experience executing large, complex projects, Dashiell specializes in medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical infrastructure and delivers safe, reliable solutions across the full project lifecycle. Backed by the scale, resources, and safety culture of Quanta Services, Dashiell partners with clients to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers communities and economies.

Primary Function

The Field Supervisor is a multi‑project leader responsible for overseeing the execution and performance of Dashiell’s field testing, commissioning, and maintenance operations. This role manages project schedules, budgets, and revenue targets while ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction across concurrent field service engagements. The Field Supervisor may also perform hands‑on electrical testing and commissioning activities as operationally required. The position will be based in Columbus, Ohio and will report to Dashiell’s Vice President of Field Services.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the execution of multiple concurrent Field Service projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accountability for revenue and profitability on assigned projects; monitor project financials and take corrective action to protect margins.
  • Plan and allocate field crew resources, equipment, and materials across projects to optimize productivity and meet client schedules.
  • Represent the company and the Field Services department in meetings with clients, ensuring professional communication, expectation alignment, and client satisfaction at a program level.
  • Provide technical direction, training, and performance feedback to field staff; support hiring decisions and contribute to workforce development across the Field Services organization.
  • Enforce corporate policies and procedures on assigned projects, including safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Represent the company in a QA/QC role, ensuring all testing and commissioning deliverables meet internal standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct and lead Job Safety Task Analyses (JSTAs), safety briefings, and safety stand‑down meetings; investigate and report on incidents, near‑misses, and safety observations in accordance with company protocols.
  • Review job scope and conduct project kickoff meetings to convey scope, schedule, safety requirements, and technical expectations to field crews and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, and clients to resolve technical issues, manage scope changes, and maintain project momentum.
  • Review and approve test reports, commissioning documentation, and quality deliverables produced by field crews.
  • Perform electrical testing and commissioning activities as operationally required, including protective relay testing, power apparatus testing, and station auxiliary system testing.
  • Direct and oversee testing and commissioning of power apparatus including power transformers, current transformers, potential transformers, medium‑ and high‑voltage circuit breakers, and switchgear assemblies.
  • Direct and oversee testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low‑voltage AC/DC station auxiliary systems including station batteries, battery chargers, inverters, DC distribution panels, AC distribution systems, and voltage regulation controls.
  • Support proposal and estimating teams with technical input on testing scope, crew requirements, durations, and equipment needs for project pursuits.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
How You Will Make An Impact

  • Protect project profitability by proactively managing budgets, crew deployment, and schedule adherence while identifying and mitigating risks before they impact performance.
  • Strengthen Dashiell’s reputation for quality and safety by ensuring every project meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing field workforce through structured mentorship, technical training, performance management, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted client‑facing leader, building lasting relationships at the program level that support repeat business and long‑term partnerships.
