Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installation to lead maintenance quality, safety, and project execution on assigned elevators and escalators.

You will supervise a unionized workforce, support sales with service orders, and drive audits, training, and productivity improvements while fostering teamwork. A Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years elevator experience is preferred; MS Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP proficiency are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
  • Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required. Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes and SAP is preferred.
  • Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and contract requirements.
  • Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for each project under his/her supervision.
  • Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Manage ongoing program of project audit so as to assure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.
  • Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal essential to productivity and quality improvement objectives.
  • Implement route management strategy in support of ensuring uniform application of preventive maintenance procedures while controlling manpower to minimum level.
  • Develop spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among all employees.
  • Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling where such tooling would support productivity improvement.
  • Maintain and manage pro‑active relationships with local IUEC business agent.

Your Main Responsibilities

Field Superintendent – Existing Installation

Essential Functions

What You Bring

Base Salary $113,400 - $141,700

The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only base salary and does not include commissions or longer‑term incentives.
