Job summary

Sherwood Surveying & S.U.E., LLC in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Subsurface Utility Engineer (SUE) Technician to designate buried utilities using advanced geophysical technologies and field observations. The role supports both Surveying and SUE duties and requires travel overnight across Texas.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma (Associates degree preferred), be able to work outside year-round, and hold a valid driver's license with a clean record. Employer-paid benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel overnight across Texas.
• Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of all crew members, clients, and the public.
• Works with utility line locating equipment for SUE designation.
• Researches utility company records and performs field observations.
• Understands project goals, scope of work and client expectations.
• Excavates utilities following applicable guidelines.
• Operates and maintains survey and SUE equipment.
• Interprets subsurface information in the field and during post processing.
• Communicates findings and analysis to team and clients.
• Willingness to travel overnight as required.
• Supports both Surveying and SUE duties with cross training.
