Job summary

Drexel Building Supply, Inc. is seeking a Component Field Specialist to bridge field Contractors, sales, and design teams. You will conduct site measurements, troubleshoot framing issues, and support truss bracing demonstrations across Wisconsin.

You’ll travel regionally, with a required on-site presence at Wrightstown, and you must provide field insights to design and plant operations to protect margins and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting field measurements for additions and remodels.
• Ability to diagnose floor performance issues and framing challenges.
• Proven track record in managing back-charge mitigation.
• Strong communication with QBs, design teams, and plant staff.
• Willingness to travel regionally within Central/Southern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Perform precise field measurements for complex remodels and pass data to the Truss Design team for first-time buildability.
• Conduct proactive jobsite visits to inspect installed truss and engineered wood products.
• Demonstrate proper bracing techniques to crews to ensure safety and compliance.
• Investigate floor deflection, bounce, or squeaks to identify root causes and remediation steps.
• Lead field investigations to mitigate back charges and document root causes in logs.
• Spend a minimum of 1 day per week at the Wrightstown manufacturing facility to stay aligned with plant operations.
