Los Alamos National Security LLC is seeking a post-bachelor student to join the Physical and Chemical Spectroscopy Group (C-PCS) at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining field deployable spectroscopy systems for liquid and gas media.

You will work with pressure and fluid systems, use hand and machining tools, and develop LABVIEW-based or similar programs to control and monitor data. Ideal candidates have a B.S.

Qualifications

• A B.S. degree in General Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with some work experience building systems.
• Experimental background with pressure or fluid systems and familiarity with hand and machining tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain field deployable systems (liquid and gas).
• Monitor and save relevant data from systems; analyze data and prepare reports.
• Deploy systems with the team in field tests, with minor adjustments as experiments proceed.
• Present data and findings to the team and stakeholders.
