Job summary

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Siletz, Oregon, seeks a Silviculture Forester to lead tribal silvicultural activities, including formulating prescriptions and overseeing project layout and quality control for reforestation and forest development.

Openings run 07/29/2026 to 08/12/2026. Salary is $38.93 per hour, full-time, non-exempt. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management or Forest Science and two years of forestry experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management or Forest Science is required.
• Two years’ forestry experience required.
• Experience with NEPA environmental compliance recommended.

Responsibilities

• Formulates silviculture prescriptions for logging and stand conversion units, forest development, and plantation maintenance.
• Coordinates stand examinations, stocking surveys, reforestation and maintenance activities.
• Develops environmental assessments for silvicultural projects not covered by timber sale assessments.
• Keeps silvicultural records for all units.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
