Job summary

Cactus Wellhead in Odessa, TX is seeking a Field & Assembly Technician to support both field operations and shop assembly, including RU/RD of frac and wellhead equipment at customer sites and maintenance in the shop when not in the field.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, safety-consciousness, and the ability to work in both field and shop environments with flexibility to changing operational demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of mechanical, oilfield, equipment service, or assembly experience preferred.
• Oilfield service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Service Technicians with rig up and rig down of frac and wellhead equipment at customer job sites.
• Inspect equipment prior to installation to ensure compatibility and readiness.
• Assist with installation, removal, testing, and servicing of wellhead and frac equipment.
• Identify and communicate equipment issues, damage, or operational concerns to supervisors.
• Support troubleshooting and minor repairs of field equipment.
• Ensure proper handling and staging of tools, parts, and equipment for field jobs.
• Provide professional customer interaction while representing Cactus Wellhead on location.
• When RU/RD field work is not scheduled, support shop operations including assembly and disassembly of frac and wellhead equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and manuals.
• Maintain shop tools and equipment.
