Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:
1. Developing a repair plan and sequence
2. Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
3. Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of the repaired components, systems, and machines
2. Complete all reports accurately and timely for parts ordering, tooling, service reports, and work orders.
3. Communicate repair progress with your supervisor as required.
4. Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts ordering system.
5. Handle special tools and maintain proper care, including major shop equipment.
6. Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure tools and equipment are properly cared for.
8. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
9. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, and manual dexterity. Employees must reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, or crawl as needed. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

The job involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
