Job Summary
A Field Service Technician – CV III will be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating control valves. This role is responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, troubleshooting, inspection and replacement of control valves.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • All additional job responsibilities of a Field Service Technician - CV I & II
  • Support Field Service Technician - CV I & II employees through mentoring and on-the-job (OJT) training
  • Performs final quality inspection of valve and equipment
  • Potentially assume role as Field Supervisor
  • Extensive Knowledge of applicable code requirements
  • Fundamental selling skills
  • Performs repair, service, maintenance and assembly operations while maintaining safety and quality as a top priority in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are identified or detected when servicing control valves in the field
  • Ensures all products repaired/assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, and work instructions
  • Performs functional tests as required
  • Collects data and documents and prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records, and expense reporting
  • Assumes responsibility and handles multiple tasks under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures
  • Practices safe work habits to ensure an injury free environment
  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools
  • Climbs and works at various heights, sometimes working in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position
  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
  • Be on the job and available to work overtime, at times for extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands
  • Operate motor vehicle, as required
  • Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required
  • Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Positional Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
    • Associates degree preferred
    • 5 or more years of industry experience
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of control valve experience
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Meets all Control Valve Technician I & II qualifications and requirements
    • Proficient in Control Valve Technician I & II responsibilities
    • Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
    • Completed MARC III certification
    • Completed QC assessment
    • Successful completion of Control Valve Level III Written and Performance Tests
    • Experienced trainer of Control Valve Technicians Level I & II
    • Working knowledge and proficiency of leading manufacturer control valve lines
    • Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast paced environment
    • Ability to manage people
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees
    • Ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence that are clear and intelligible
    • Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills

    • Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
