Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Services Technician - Tier II to perform on-site residential installations and repairs, ensuring a seamless customer experience as they connect to our fiber network. This role requires travel across service areas and the ability to work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities include installing and configuring customer equipment, diagnosing connectivity issues, wiring cabling per code, and documenting service activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (climb ladders up to 32ft, operate bucket truck).
• Able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Must lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to obtain a Class E license if offered.

Socket is seeking a skilled Field Services Technician- Tier II to join our talented workforce. In this role, you'll deliver expert onsite installation services for residential customers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a seamless experience for our customers as they connect to Socket's fiber network. This role will require travel to our various service areas and will be required to work in most conditions.

Location

This role will work in Lebanon and surrounding areas.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
• Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered

Preferences:

• Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles.
• Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC).
• Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes.
