Overview
Field Services Technician - Level 2 (Silent-Aire Mission Critical Services) – part of Johnson Controls' Data Center Solutions. The team designs and supports data center cooling equipment, including CRAHUs, focusing on energy efficiency and reliability. We are a diverse, upbeat, team-oriented group of technicians, engineers and managers working to develop data center cooling equipment that changes the data center facility landscape.

Responsibilities
- Support commissioning and after-sales service for Silent-Aire/Johnson Controls projects, working with other Field Technicians.
- Work unsupervised when needed and make informed decisions to complete tasks as instructed.
- Check in with Manager at end of each field day and with clients at start and end of each day; obtain client signatures on applicable forms.
- Complete company-provided forms and use Time Clocks/ADP for time tracking; submit paperwork in sequential order; ensure receipts and invoices have job numbers and are routed correctly.
- Document excess materials used for each job and assist on sites with other Field Technicians.
- Respond to office emails/calls promptly and keep Manager or Field Supervisor informed of status.
- Secure parts/tools needed during the day; report warranty repairs and provide required information for internal reporting.
- Consult Managers/Supervisors when uncertain and provide training to Field Service Technician - Level 1 as needed.
- Adhere to company policies and NDAs; maintain safety equipment at all times.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent GED; registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC
- Willing to travel up to 70%
- Strong understanding of basic electrical/control systems and HVAC processes (temperature, humidity, distribution)
- General knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems; ability to identify 3-phase vs. single-phase wiring; understand Parallel/Series circuits
- OHMS Law knowledge and ability to use a multimeter
- Ability to read, understand and work from mechanical drawings; maintain records and prepare reports
- Valid passport/driver's license; ability to lift 40 lbs and use ladders; experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/Field environments
- Proficient in Windows/Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Aptitude and communication skills for independent work; knowledge of internal/industry design and construction codes and standards
- Proven planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Preferred: Registered refrigeration/HVAC tech, controls tech, Electrician Journeyman, or related tradesperson
- Experience in highly sensitive/mission-critical facilities; ability to drive to local sites
- On-call and overtime availability; PPE awareness
- Ability to pass a DOD background check requiring proof of U.S. Citizenship
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; safety-sensitive position
- Company uniform and good hygiene/cleanliness expectations
