Job summary

Baxter is hiring a Team Leader in Richmond, CA to oversee service center staff and field operations. You will lead work distribution, mentor technicians, and ensure safety and compliance across the team.

The role requires handling complex repairs and coordinating daily activities at the service center and in the field. Applicants should have 3+ years in medical devices, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for on-call schedules.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years working with medical devices in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong ability to lead a field/center team and train others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new tech.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee work distribution to Service Center staff and field teams.
  • Lead safety/compliance training and complete required medical testing.
  • Safely operate company vehicles from vans to large trucks.
  • Perform complex repairs on Baxter medical products.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, maintenance, and pre-installation tasks.
  • Inspect equipment for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or cosmetic issues.
  • Coordinate daily on-site activities and manage inventory.
  • Ensure accurate on-site inventory and scheduling flexibility.

Your Role at Baxter

In addition to the responsibilities below, the Team Leader will at times be required to complete tasks and responsibilities outlined in the Field Service Technician I & II job descriptions as the needs of the business require. This job is a leadership role which will oversee work distribution to all Service Center employees.

What You'll Do:
  • Complete all required safety and compliance learning modules on a timely basis and complete medical testing in a timely manner.
  • Safely operate a fleet vehicle ranging in size from a cargo van to a 26,000 pound truck.
  • Lift and carry up to 65 pounds using appropriate processes and safety procedures.
  • Lead and conduct training on Baxter portfolio products and services at the service center, territory, and area levels.
  • Perform complex repairs on medical products beyond simple and minor cosmetic repairs or component replacements.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance procedures on various medical products, including pre-installation maintenance, and modification procedures.
  • Visually, audibly, and manually inspect Baxter products for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or cosmetic problems requiring adjustment or repair.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments, oversee and engage in field and warehouse activities, and manage accurate on-site inventory.
What You'll Bring:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Applicable technical or trade school training preferred
  • 3+ years working with medical devices/FDA regulated products in a hands‑on environment preferred
  • Adapts to new technologies and comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company standards and state requirements
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT physical card required
  • Schedule flexibility/on-call

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base hourly/salary range of $72,000 to $99,000. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/ experience, time in role, business line, and geographic/ office location.
