Field Services Project Manager - Steam Turbine Projects
Overview

Position Summary: The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing steam turbine projects at industrial facilities. These projects should be considered large, complex, or high dollar/high risk. A qualified candidate should be able to process technical information and be skilled in conflict management and resolution, contracting, procurement, quality assurance management, and possess advanced communication abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Civil/Structural: Communicate with engineers to determine foundation designs based on static and dynamic equipment loads. Using those foundation designs provided by others, the PM should be able to write specifications for contractors to bid. The work will then be overseen by the PM.
  • Piping: Hot steam pipe requiring special design considerations, welding techniques, and conformity to special ASME requirements. The PM should understand these requirements, be capable of communicating them and overseeing work by contractors to ensure these requirements are being adhered to properly. Communication with design engineers referencing building scope documents will be required.
  • Electrical: Electrical installations including medium voltage to low voltage will be required. Communicating requirements to electrical engineers and contractors to support project implementation will be required.
  • Installation: Oversight, both onsite and from the office, of our internal Field Service teams as well as subcontractors. Managing schedule, deliveries, logistics, safety, and budget are critical. Understanding when to delegate and when to be on site to oversee tasks personally is an important instinct that is critical in this role.

Physical Demands
  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all locations at a customer site, which could include heights, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working in both covered and outside environments.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, Walking, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing, and Sitting.
